Arrived on site to address multiple electrical concerns, including wiring two sections of Romex to a junction box for future light fixture extensions. Additional items noted during inspection included the need for surge protection, arc-fault breakers for added circuit protection, replacement of damaged junction boxes, and installation of additional smoke detectors. The approved scope of work consisted of terminating conductors for planned light fixtures and securing connections inside a bell box with wire nuts and a cover plate. All work was completed and tested for proper function.
Inspected main panel and identified multiple code violations, including neutrals and grounds terminated under the same screws and conductors entering panels without proper connectors. Noted that multiple #10 conductors were double-lugged under a 2-pole 60A breaker and were feeding subpanels. These conductors were undersized for the connected load and posed a fire risk, as they could overheat before tripping the breaker. Replaced the 60A breakers with 2-pole 30A breakers to match the conductor capacity and ensure proper circuit protection. Corrected all raceways and Romex entries by installing appropriate connectors. Installed a ground bar in a subpanel that lacked proper bonding to bring it into compliance.
Responded to call for lightning damage affecting a kitchen circuit. Conducted safety check and performed Level II diagnostic. Identified absence of GFCI protection. Installed four new GFCI devices in the kitchen and both bathrooms. Surge protection was also installed as part of the service.
Diagnosed and repaired electrical issues in a shed. Identified a junction box in the attic as the probable cause. Upon inspection, found the box installed upside down and inaccessible. Replaced the box, remade connections, and restored power. All lighting and outlets in the shed returned to normal operation.
Inspected reported issue involving two tripped circuits that would not reset. Determined the issue was limited to one circuit, which successfully reset upon arrival. Circuit powered bathroom outlets and an exterior outlet connected to a sump pump. The sump pump motor had recently been replaced, but the outlet remained non-functional, along with the bathroom outlets. After resetting the breaker and inspecting all related outlets, no immediate faults were found. Replaced the bathroom GFCI to ensure long-term reliability. Installed a dedicated circuit from the pool pump panel to supply power to the sump pump.
Too many older homes are still operating with outdated electrical systems. If your board employs the use of fuses, take a break in reading and book a panel update approximation immediately. If your panel is over 25 years old, you have all the more reason to schedule that panel upgrade estimate as soon as possible.
Your current lifestyle requires more electricity from the power grid than before. The latest big-screen TVs, high-end computers, and sophisticated appliances all require more power than your electrical system may be able to deliver safely. Most homeowners don’t give any thought to upgrading their electrical panel until a problem arises.
Indicators that you need an upgraded panel:
The first step we take is sending our team of trained electricians to review your power use with your panel. He’ll take the time to show you how much power you’re consuming and help you see whether or not you need a new panel. He will then afterwards supply you with upgrade alternatives. As all other services we offer, we would not begin the operation unless you have accepted our estimation.
How secure are you from power outbursts of damage and lightning strikes? The truth is that standard home insurance plans usually do not cover either power outages or lightning storms. Statistics from the National Fire Protection Association show that the average claim amount in 2013 was $5,869, more than double what it was a decade earlier. This is why it is important that you have our team of experts protect you from potential power and lightning surge.
It would be a smart move to have your home’s electrical system inspected by our team of licensed electricians. They will prepare top-notch recommendations and options to help you make the most out of your home’s electrical services, as well as give you options for proper protection from surges. This important assessment won’t take too much of your time. Be it as it may, it requires much less time for a surge to pile up costly losses. At this stage, you must decide.
